  • 800 g water hot
  • 500 g white long grain rice e.g. basmati, jasmine
  • 150 g red pepper (approx. 1 pepper) deseeded, cut in pieces (4 cm)
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 200 g plum tomatoes cut in pieces (4 cm)
  • 1 - 2 scotch bonnet chillis to taste (optional)
  • 50 g fresh root ginger peeled, cut in round slices (2 mm)
  • 200 g red onions quartered
  • 100 g red onion
  • 150 g tomato purée
  • 100 g vegetable oil
  • ½ Tbsp dried thyme
    or dried mixed herbs
  • ½ Tbsp curry powder
  • 1 heaped tsp chicken stock paste, homemade
    or 1 chicken stock cube (for 0.5 l) crumbled
  • 20 g all purpose seasoning e.g. Maggi liquid seasoning
  • ½ Tbsp fine sea salt
  • 500 g water
