  • 10 g fresh ginger cut in thin slices
  • 2 sprigs spring onions cut in 4 cm pieces
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp glutinous rice wine (optional)

Rice and kai lan

  • 1070 g water
  • 300 g white Jasmine rice rinsed
  • 30 g multigrain rice rinsed
  • 200 g baby kai lan rinsed
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • ½ tsp Chinese rice wine (Shaoxing Hua Tiao) (optional)
  • ½ tsp chicken stock powder homemade or store-bought
  • 3 tbsp hot water
